Ronyae Alfred is part of a new generation of chefs that focuses on expanding their brand with a strong social media presence and local following. Cutting his teeth in his Dix Hills kitchen cooking for family and friends, Chef Ronyae quickly realized that food for him was not just a hobby, it was a passion.
With the support of his family, Ronyae was able to begin cooking in earnest well before finishing high school in 2022. In fact, the silver lining of the pandemic was that Chef Ronyae was able to develop his skills and personal menu without too many distractions. He did not waste the opportunity! Whipping up family favorites like reverse seared lamb, southern fried chicken, mac & cheese and more, Ronyae Alfred continued to impress his loved ones. It wasn't before long that Yae (as he is known) realized this was his calling. Having recognized his talent early on, Yae's father, Eddy Alfred, a businessman and entrepreneur himself, encouraged his son to pursue this culinary path and do what he loves.
"I remember, as a kid, pounding the pavement in the 95 degree summer heat with my dad and his business partner when they started their company from scratch," shares Chef Ronyae. "So I've seen hard work first hand and I've never been afraid to roll up my sleeves and get my hands dirty."
Chef Ronyae intends to hone his craft to perfection and one day follow in his father's footsteps by opening his own business. As head of his own kitchen and restaurant, Ronyae promises to bring those beloved family favorites born in his childhood home to a much wider audience. For now, though, he is still paying his dues; working, learning and making a name for himself. So keep an eye on Chef Ronyae, and don't be surprised in a few years when you see three Michelin stars next to his name!
